This session directly supports the Caribbean Community’s (CARICOM) commitment to achieving a just, inclusive, and resilient energy future, as outlined in the CARICOM Energy Policy, the Regional Gender Equality Strategy, and the CARICOM Resilience Framework. It reinforces regional priorities under the Caribbean Sustainable Energy Roadmap and Strategy (C-SERMS) by promoting equitable participation in clean energy transitions that benefit women, youth, and vulnerable groups. Through CCREEE’s coordination role within CARICOM, the discussion will advance collaboration on locally led adaptation, social inclusion, and climate resilience, linking energy access with human development and community empowerment. The session also aligns with CARICOM’s advocacy for loss and damage financing and its engagement with mechanisms such as the Adaptation Fund to strengthen community-driven solutions. By centering people and equity, this panel embodies CARICOM’s vision of transforming the region’s energy transition into a catalyst for social justice, gender empowerment, and sustainable prosperity.
