As part of its Public Education and Awareness campaign, the 3R-CReWS project team has been actively engaging students throughout the year to raise awareness about key environmental topics.
The team visited six primary and secondary schools, educating students about important concepts related to sustainability and environmental protection.
During the school vacation, the team also extended their outreach to Vacation Bible School participants, ensuring that young learners had an opportunity to explore environmental issues in a fun and engaging way.

Among the topics covered, students learned about the Water Cycle and the 3 Rs – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Secondary school students delved deeper into the workings of the Bridgetown Sewage Treatment Plant and the South Coast Treatment Plant. These topics were particularly relevant to their Chemistry, General Biology, and Human and Social Biology syllabi, where they explored water treatment processes and separation techniques used in these plants.
This initiative has provided students with valuable knowledge and hands-on understanding of the importance of environmental sustainability, empowering the next generation to be stewards of their communities and the environment.
Additionally, the wider community was engaged through the Nation Funathlon and the 3R-CReWS post-marathon poster and cup distribution. From the one event, the 3R-CReWS social media following grew by 33% as 50 people subscribed across various platforms.
